It’s here where snuff goes in two directions, dry nasal snuff and dipping snuff. Dry nasal snuff was just as popular with the elite colonists in America is it was in Europe in the late 1700’s. It was so popular, and such a big part in early American’s lives that large snuff boxes were installed in the US Senate chambers so that Senators could fill their personal snuff boxes during long meetings. In fact, the boxes have been regularly filled up until the present day. Even though snuff taking by Senators has long died out. But snuff taking was also popular among the lower classes as well but in a different way. |
